FSS Program

Supplying Quality Affordable Housing to Residents of Franklin County Illinois

The Family Self-Sufficiency Program is for residents in the Section 8 program and is designed to assist families in becoming economically self-sufficient through job training and placement, high school equivalency classes, child care, transportation, and other supportive services to help the families to become working and welfare free.

The most beneficial aspect to some of the clients is an escrow account that can be established when a resident has an increase in their earned income from a new job or from a a raise in their current employment.  When the resident completes their contract, they can collect the mone in their escrow account and use it as they see fit.

The Franklin County Housing Authority currently has 15 families under contract and 5 completed contracts.

Our FSS coordinator is Becky Leach.
